WHAT: UNFOLD - A cultural response to climate change
Since 2007 Cape Farewell’s international teams of artists and climate scientists have made two expeditions to the Arctic, sailing on a 100 year old schooner, the Noordelicht. The team conducted oceanography experiments and gained artistic inspiration from this fragile ice-bound environment. The aim of the projects was to address the issue of climate change by providing first-hand accounts and data, and produce artworks that provide a human scale for a problem that often seems too large to comprehend. The exhibition, which hopes to inspire others to actively engage in the press realities of climate change, will include works by Chris Wainwright, David Buckland, Michéle Noach, Tracey Rowledge, Clare Twomey, Sunand Prasad, Lucy & Jorge Orta and Ackroydd & Harvey.
WHERE: Kings Place Gallery, Kings Place, 90 York Way, LONDON, N1 9AG (Tube: Kings Cross)
PRICE AND INFO: Free admission. For more information see the Kings Place website or the Cape Farewell website
