Reefs at risk

New system predicts how much damage a coral reef is likely to sustain during a storm
A group of scientists at James Cook University, Australia, has constructed the world’s first engineering model that predicts how much damage a coral reef is likely to sustain during a storm. The model will be useful in predicting the effect of increased storminess due to global warming, said the study’s lead author, Joshua Madin.
