The Indian leather industry is booming, but environmentalists are concerned that regulations are being ignored in the rush for profits. In Kanpur, on the banks of the holy River Ganges, children work with dangerous chemicals, locals are suffering from heavy metal poisoning and the water is so polluted that many people now believe that this is where the Ganges dies.
